Kabir holds a Ph.D. in Finance and Applied Mathematics from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK, where his dissertation focused on Risk Management, Portfolio Optimization and Trading in Energy & Financial Markets. He also holds Master of Science with Distinction in Computer and Network Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, UK and a Diploma of Imperial College in Finance from Imperial College Business School, Imperial College, London. He has a Master of Science in Finance from Imperial College Business School, Imperial College, London and a Bachelor of Science with Upper Second Class in Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics from University of Abuja, Nigeria. Kabir is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Kabir is a Deputy Director and the Head of Policy Unit in the Research, Policy & International relations Department of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Abuja. He is also the Editor of NDIC Quarterly, the Corporation’s Journal. He has led and conducted independent, large-scale research projects in the Corporation. Kabir has designed and developed several world-class risk forecasting, risk management and financial stability models. He has served as NDIC representative on national interagency and international groups.
Kabir is a subject matter expert and has presented research papers on financial portfolio optimization; financial and non-financial risk management; artificial intelligence; customer profiling using historical data; power trading; quantitative energy; and deposit insurance. He was a teaching-assistant to the highly acclaimed Warwick MBA and Warwick Msc Management and provided tutorial and support on quantitative risk- and portfolio-management courses to the University of Warwick MSc students.
